INTRODUCTION
In order to improve high-level scientific research, transfer technology in the fields of Economics, Finance, Banking, macroeconomics of the University of Economics and Law in general and of the Faculty of Finance and Banking in particular, on November 06, 2013, the financial market simulation room was officially put into operation.
The financial market simulation room aims to become the leading training and research center in the South with specific activities as follows:
- Training Ph.D and master's students in research methodology and data mining
- Implementing scientific research
- Training students of VNU-HCM's member universities
- Training high-quality human resources for the labor market
- Conducting collaborative research projects with enterprises and organizations
- Enhance lecturers' research capacity
In order to create high-quality scientific research and provide training programs for business community, the financial market simulation room (now called Center for Economic and Finance Research - CEFR) constantly seeks partnerships with domestic and foreign organizations and individuals. Currently, the CEFR has cooperated with prestigious organizations such as Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE), Ho Chi Minh Institute for Development Studies (HIDS), Singapore Management University (SMU), Intelligent Financial Research and Consulting Company (IFRC), Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (Sacombank) etc.

Opening ceremony of the financial market simulation room
The establishment of the CEFR is a breakthrough project, contributing to enhance the role, status and contribution of scientists, lecturers, fellows, graduate students towards the construction, planning and implementation of macroeconomics policy, fiscal policy, monetary policy in Viet Nam as well as key economic areas in southern provinces.
