With the ambition to provide high-quality human resources to serve the economic development of the Southern provinces and the whole country, satisfy the need for higher education of the graduated students and promote life-long learning, since 2005, the Department of Finance and Banking (now the Faculty of Finance and Banking) has been assigned to open programs in Economics of Finance and Banking. Since 2005, the program has provided ten batches with about 60 students for each batch. In addition, to meet the demand for postgraduate training of Southern provinces, the Faculty also offered courses in Bac Lieu and An Giang since 2011. The graduate rate of MSc in Economics of Finance and Banking is about 80%. There has been 500 graduates so far. Many of them are holding high positions in companies, credit institutions, state agencies, and have contributed significantly to the development of the economy in general and the finance and banking sector in particular.
